Scripture Reading:Exo 14:15 -16
And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward
Reflections: The people of Israel got to the shores of the Red Sea. How were they going to crossover to Canaan? To compound matters, the Egyptian army who were pursuing them were so close now. Gripped with fear, they soon began to murmur. In the midst of their confusion, God asked Moses to tell them to to march forward. This sounded absurd since rationally it meant walking into the sea and getting drowned. However they complied. As they did so, the Red Sea, under the power of God, parted into two creating a miraculously pathway for them to cross over. ‘Marching forward’ in this sense implies that the people of Israel were not to be moved by the sight of the Sea. This is significant for our daily walk with God. Paul confirms this and says we walk not by sight but by faith ( 2 Cor 5:7). Walking by sight will only introduce fear into your life which will limit you. Like Israel whenever you face your ‘Red Sea’, don’t be moved by sight. Only be moved by the word of God and keep marching forward! You will certainly encounter the miraculous!
Prayer: Oh Lord help me not to be moved by sight.
Confession: I am not moved by sight. I am only moved by the word of God.
