Scripture Reading: Dan 3:26
Then Nebuchadnezzar came near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came forth from the midst of the fire.
Reflections: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego found themselves in the fiery furnace for refusing to bow down to the golden image of King Nebuchadnezzar. Before they were angrily thrown into the fire by the King, we notice that the king merely called them by their names. However, when Divine Intervention took place, and the fire failed to affect them ( even though its heat had earlier killed the men who threw the boys into the oven), we see the King now call them differently. He adds the title ‘ Servant of the Most High God to their names! As divine intervention brings us freedom, it points people to our God! It tells them our God is the ALMIGHTY, and we are his servants. God is still in the business of proving He is the Almighty and that we are his servants. Anytime you find yourself in trouble, tell God it is time to point out to people that He is the Almighty and that you are his servant!
Prayer: Oh Lord, let there be a demonstration that there is none beside you and that I am your servant
Confession: God will always prove that he is the Almighty and that I am his servant.
