Scripture Reading: Matthew 10:41
He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
Reflections: Jesus dispatched his twelve disciples on a mission. The communities in which they would operate were destined to experience unparalleled blessings. The blind would see, the cripple would walk, the deaf would hear, and the oppressed would be set free, among others. Jesus told his disciples, however, that these blessings would not automatically be bestowed upon everyone they ministered to but those who received them well. Jesus intended to imply that the anointing on their lives will naturally operate for people who accept their ministry wholeheartedly and honor them. Thus, how a person perceives and treats a servant of God will have a significant impact on how their lives are blessed by the anointing bestowed on these servants of God. You must recognize and treat the servants of God with the respect that God expects.
Prayer: Dear Lord, assist me in honoring your servants in a way that pleases you.
Confession: I recognize and treat the servants of God with the respect due them.
