Scripture Reading: 1Co 3:12 -13
Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.
Reflections: It is an undeniable fact that everybody does or has something to do in life. Overtime what is done begins to yield a particular result. This could be negative or positive depending on what was done and how it was done. This reoccurring phenomenon in life transcends ordinary living to encompass that of the Christian life. The Apostle Paul takes time to explain this when he informs the Corinthian church about the impending judgement regarding what we do with our lives to build the kingdom of God. The results of ‘every man’s work’, he says, will be “revealed (determined) by fire’. The fire will test the quality of each man’s action and will provide the basis for eternal rewards. They key lesson here is that whatever you do with your life today will show results over time which will either be rewarding or regrettable. This goes to conclude that time will either promote or expose you in life. Just think about it again- Time will either promote or expose you!! Ask God for divine help to be watchful and careful of what you do in life and how you do it.
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me not to do things anyhow. I want to be watchful and careful of what i do in life and how i do it.
Confession: My actions determines the kind of results I obtain in life. I am therefore watchful and careful of what I do in life and how I do it. With time I will surely be promoted.
