Friday, 28th February 2025: Suffering is transformative and leads to glory!

Scripture Reading: Matthew 10:38 (KJV)
“And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.”

Reflections: Discipleship comes with a price. In the passage, Jesus introduces the imagery of the cross, symbolizing suffering, sacrifice, and self-denial. To take up the cross means to willingly embrace the hardships and challenges that come with following Christ. It is an invitation to endure suffering not as a punishment but as a path of transformation and glory. Suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). It refines our faith and deepens our dependence on God. Every trial we face draws us closer to Him and prepares us for the crown of life (James 1:12).

Prayer: Lord, help me to take up my cross daily and follow You, even when it leads to suffering.

Confession: I take up my cross and follow Christ with faith and courage.
