Scripture Reading: Matthew 21: 6-8
And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
Reflections: Jesus told His disciples to find Him a donkey. He even showed them where to find the donkey. When the donkey was brought in, Jesus mounted it and marched into Jerusalem, where He was cheered and greeted by a large crowd. The incident was unprecedented, and it turned out to be a fulfillment of prophesy concerning his messiahship. First and foremost, Jesus’ request for a donkey at the time demonstrates that He was aware of the timing of the fulfillment of His prophetic word. Second, it indicates that He also recognized the appropriate action to take to herald the fulfilment of the prophecy. Without these, perhaps the prophetic word would have taken longer to be fulfilled. As much as we expect prophesies to be fulfilled in our lives, we must also be able to detect the hour of fulfillment and position ourselves as divinely suitable. Like Jesus, God’s word for your life will undoubtedly be fulfilled.
Prayer: Dear Lord, please assist me in discerning the hour of fulfillment of prophecies concerning my life and positioning myself for it.
Confession: God’s word for my life shall see fulfillment.
