Scripture Reading: Hebrews 10:3-5
But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me.

Reflections: It’s been centuries since the fall of Adam. Over the period, the sacrifice of bulls and goats was used to atone for the sins of man. This was done on yearly basis but it could still not deal with the very nature of sin. Then came the advent of Christ. He took the place of the yearly sacrificial animal offering and offered His body in its place. This led to his crucifixion on the cross which paid fully and once and for all the atoning price of sin. The nature of sin was crushed and there was no need for the yearly animal sacrifice any more. Man was therefore reconciled to God through Jesus Christ and has been free ever since to approach God at anytime at all. Thus before the advent of Christ, even though there was a solution in dealing with sin, it was not long lasting. The body of Christ served as the long lasting solution required for dealing with sin and its effects. One of the lessons derived from this is that in life it is important and more rewarding to develop and implement a long lasting solution to challenges that confront you than to go for solutions that simply and only seeks to manage and fix things periodically. Go for long lasting solutions as led by the Holy Ghost.

Prayer: Oh Lord help me to identify and apply long lasting solutions to challenges that confronts me in life.
