Scripture Reading: 1cor 12:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Reflection: Temptation is one of the tools employed by satan to get people to do something wrong or unwise. Some people are unable to overcome this tactic of the devil and end up yielding to its demands. The truth however is that provisions have been made by God to enable you overcome any temptation. Paul sheds light on this to the Corinthian church. In the first place he gets them to understand that God will not allow any temptation beyond their ability to deal with it to come their way. Secondly he informs them about how God puts in place a way of escape out of any given temptation. A way of escape is simply ‘an exit out of a confined place’. All you need to do when you come under the threat of temptation is to remember these two divine provisions and put them to work. Thus when confronted with any temptation, by remembering that that there is divine strength within you to overcome it, your ability to resist it will get boosted. Then while resisting the demands of that temptation, just be on the look out for the way of escape which God shall not fail to provide. Yes! You have divine provisions to overcome any temptation. There is no temptation you cannot overcome! Glory Haleluia!
Prayer: Lord, I thank you that I have the provisions to overcome any temptation.
Confession: There is no temptation I cannot overcome. I have power to resist any temptation. There is always an escape door for me to get out of any demands of temptation. I am a winner!
