Friday, 26th June 2020: It takes preparation and not wishes to advance in life!

Scripture Reading: 1Ch 22:15-16.   15. Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work. 16.  Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.
Reflections: David had a meeting with Solomon, his son and successor to the throne. The purpose of the meeting was to give Solomon the charge to build God a magnificent temple. One thing which obviously surprised Solomon was to hear his father inform him that he has made ready and available 100,000 gold talents, 1,000,000 silver talents, bronze and iron beyond calculation, timber and stone, workers including stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and an innumerable group of artisans who are skilled at working in gold, silver, bronze, and iron for the temple’s construction. By this, the basis was set for him to advance with the work. There was no doubt that his father had thought him a cardinal principle – in order to advance in life, one will need to put the necessary preparations in place. Whatever you aspire to do, learn to work it out by first preparing towards it. It always takes preparation and not wishes to make strides in life.
Prayer: Oh Lord help me to make the necessary  inputs required for advancing in life.
Confession. I don’t day dream. Neither do I live by wishes. I prepare towards my advancement in life.
