Scripture Reading: Act 2:22. Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by Him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:
Reflections: In his Pentecost sermon, Peter introduced Jesus to the crowd as having hailed from ‘Nazareth and approved by God with signs and wonders’. This statement is worth examining. Nazareth at the time was a small village and appeared to lack the kind of reputation that made settlements great. This is confirmed by Nathaniel in John 1:46 where when he was told that the much awaited Messiah for the Jews (Jesus) had surfaced and that His ‘hometown’ was Nazareth, he kind of had a good laugh, and queried the information with the words ‘Can any good thing come from Nazareth?”. Being ‘approved with signs and wonders’ is indicative of a divine power that causes one to become influential and irresistible in life. Thus despite the jaded comment on His background, Jesus could not be stopped from coming to the lime light of life and fulfilling His destiny. The approval of God for His life and ministry was the driving force behind His success. When God approves of your life, you are accorded every divine assistance you need to scale up your given height irrespective of the limitations surrounding your life. All you need is divine approval!
Prayer: Oh Lord, let my life be approved with signs and wonders.
Confession: I am approved of God. I am unlimited and unstoppable as I scale up my given heights.
