Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 9:27
“And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.”
Reflections: Saul, on a mission to find his father’s lost donkeys, sought help from the prophet Samuel. Their meeting was divinely orchestrated, but before delivering the message that Saul would be Israel’s king, Samuel asked Saul to send his servant away, ensuring privacy for the prophecy. Samuel’s action teaches an important lesson about discretion when delivering divine messages. Pastors, prophets, and anyone entrusted with sensitive information must be wise and careful in how they communicate it. Not every revelation is meant to be shared openly; some messages are personal and intended only for the recipient. Samuel created a private moment for Saul to receive God’s word fully, showing us that timing, setting, and confidentiality are essential when sharing God’s plans.
Prayer: Lord, give me the wisdom to know how and when to deliver Your message.
Confession: I deliver God’s messages with discretion and wisdom.
