Friday, 25th February 2022: God wields the final authority over your life!

Scripture Reading: Acts 4:10
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

Reflections: The healing of the lame man who, for ages, sat begging for alms at the entrance of the temple caused such a great stir among the religious leaders. They arrested Peter and John and demanded to know the source of their healing power. In his answer, Peter did not merely cite the name of Jesus Christ as the source but went ahead to remind the authorities that this was the Jesus whom they crucified, but God raised on the third day. Peter indeed sought to communicate an important message from this submission. By pointing out to the authorities that their act of crucifixion was made null and void by the agency of resurrection, he laid bare the reality that the final authority in the rule of life lies with God and not man. As long as God is on your side, no ruling authority can exert its influence and decision over your life and expect it to be final. God wields the final authority over your life!

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that you have the final authority over my life.

Confession: God has the final say over my life.
