Friday, 24th November 2023: Your duty is to safeguard the faith through opposition to false teachings.

Scripture Reading: Jude 1:4  For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Reflections: Jude’s letter to the church warns against a group of individuals trying to sneak into the kingdom. These individuals are spreading a distorted message that God’s grace gives people a license to commit immoral acts. In other words, they claim that people need not worry about sinning due to grace. Jude strongly believes that this is a complete perversion of God’s word and must be resisted. Our responsibility is to fight against false teachings and prevent the truth of God’s word from being perverted. By doing so, we can enjoy the gospel’s transformative power and help others grow spiritually. If we fail to defend the faith, the church will fail in its divine mandate of transforming lives. Therefore, we are called to resist false teachings and defend the truth of God’s word!

Prayer: Lord, help me defend the faith by staying vigilant against false teachings.

Confession: I expose false teachers to preserve the true faith.
