Friday, 24th May 2024: The stronger one wins!

Scripture Reading: Luke 11:21-22
When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.

Reflections: Jesus healed a dumb man by casting out the spirit responsible for his infirmity, demonstrating his power over the devil. Critics accused him of being demonic, but Jesus debunked their assertions and justified his superiority. He illustrated the principle of “the stronger one wins” by submitting that despite the power of Satan’s kingdom, which he likened to a strong and armed fortress, when a stronger person attacks and overpowers Satan, he will empty Satan’s arsenal, ransack his kingdom, and distribute victory spoils. This lesson emphasizes that, as long as we work out our spiritual lives and increase our authority and power, we can confront the devil, take back what he has stolen from us, or prevent him from plundering our lives. Jesus’ superior power and readiness to enter the devil’s camp to free people from sickness and other problems demonstrate the value of being stronger than the enemy of one’s life and family at all times.

Prayer: Oh Lord make me stronger than my enemies.
