Scripture Reading: 1Kings 17:15-16
And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days. And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.
Reflections: The widow of Zarephath was taken aback by Elijah’s request that she share her last meal with him. What sounded most surprising was that Elijah had said it was God’s will for her to feed him and that in doing so, miraculously, she would not run out of food. Moved by faith, she proceeded to cook the meal. As she poured out the last bit of flour, she noticed that the supply never cut off. The same thing happened with the bottle of oil. Regardless of how much she poured out of the containers every time she prepared a meal, the supply never ran out. Undoubtedly the supplies could not be interrupted because of the power of God. As with the widow, as you yield to God’s word through faith, His limitless power will be deployed in your favor. It will offset the limitations in your life.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for your limitless power
Confession: The limitless power of God offsets the limitations in my life.
