Scripture Reading: Matthew 2:8
And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found Him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship Him also.
Reflections: They stopped over at the palace of King Herod to make enquiries about the exact location of the baby whose star they had seen in the east. The baby, they told Herod, had been born to become the King of the Jews. Herod was startled at the news. In talking to the chief priests and scribes, he understood that the prophets of old had prophesied that such a child will be born in Bethlehem. He then passed on the information to the wise men. In doing so, he requested that they bring him evidence of having found the baby so he could also go and pay his due reverence. He sounded as if he was so happy about this special baby but this was all cooked up. He had already decided in his heart to kill Him. Like the case of baby Jesus, when information about your destiny gets into the hands of some people, it may agitate them and lead them to secretly scheme up against your life. Critical information about your life should therefore never get into the wrong hands. Merry Christmas!
Prayer: Oh Lord, let the information of my destiny be kept away from the wrong people.
Confession: Information about my destiny will not get into the wrong hands.
