Friday, 23rd March 2018: Change is preceded with action!

Scripture Reading: Revelation 3:1-2
And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die:

Reflection: The church at Sardis was asked to be watchful and to ‘strengthen the things which remain. Watchfulness essentially provides you with information to make decisions. The word ‘strengthen’ translated in the Greek is ‘Sterizo’. It means ‘to turn resolutely in a certain direction’. Once you are well informed about the cause of an issue, the next step is to turn resolutely in the required direction. In all fields of endeavors, including our spiritual lives, whenever things seem to go wrong, the only way to get back on track and keep achieving results is to turn resolutely in a certain direction. There are no two ways about this! Don’t only be concerned about information that explains the status quo but be equally minded to turn resolutely in the direction that is required to bring redress. The story of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32 is a classical example. When he discovered he needed to have his dignity and honor restored, he made a quick decision. He immediately set off home to seek forgiveness from his father. This resolute turn in his life proved to be the direction that led to his breakthrough. Change is always preceded with action! Be watchful in life and learn to strengthen the things which remain!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to to turn resolutely in a certain direction any time it is demanded so that I will be kept on the path of glory.

Confession: I refuse to be stopped from turning resolutely in a certain direction any time it is demanded. I keep walking on the path of glory!
