Scripture Reading: Eph 6:24
Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen
Reflections: Paul ends his letter to the Ephesians by pronouncing grace upon those he labels as loving Jesus Christ in sincerity. Sincerity, translated from the Greek word ‘aphtharsia’ defines the state of not being subject to decay or interruption. When it is thus applied to love as within this context of Paul’s discussion, it indicates an undying or unending love. Paul is therefore conveying a message to the effect that grace is reserved for only those whose love for God is not temporary. Genuine love is unconditional and does not diminish in the face of trials. As long as your love for God is unconditional, be rest assured that grace will always be extended to you so you can endure and triumph over trials!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for the grace to endure and triumph over trials.
Confession: My love for God is genuine and unending. I am graced to endure and triumph over crisis.
