Scripture Reading: Act 16:25-26 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
Reflections: Paul and Silas were imprisoned in a cell with severe conditions after being publicly flogged; their feet were kept in stock. They prayed and praised God in the middle of the night, despite their circumstances. They demonstrated that their allegiance to God was unconditional. In the course of praying and praising God, a sudden earthquake rocked the prison, loosened their chains, and opened the prison doors. To their utmost surprise God had responded to their normal but steadfast lifestyle of praying and praising Him. Be unmovable and steadfast in your relationship with God. Like the case of the apostles, it will pay off!
Prayer: Oh Lord help me serve you unreservedly and unconditionally.
Confession: I am unmovable in my relationship with God.
