Scripture Reading: Genesis 2:15(NIV)
“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
Reflections: From the beginning, God designed humanity for meaningful and purposeful work. In the Garden of Eden, Adam was entrusted to work and care for it, demonstrating that labor reflects God’s creative and sustaining nature. This divine principle extended to Cain and Abel, whose distinct labors—cultivating the soil and tending livestock—illustrate the diversity and fruitfulness of human effort (Genesis 4:1-2). God promises to bless the work of our hands when aligned with His will (Deuteronomy 28:12), affirming that diligent labor is a pathway to His provision and abundance. However, Scripture warns against idleness, emphasizing that work is both a moral duty and a means of sustenance (2 Thessalonians 3:10-11). The bottom line line is that you are designed to work and be fruitful in life. Let nothing stop you from this divine mandate and a means to honor God, sustain life, and experience His blessings.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for designing me to work and be fruitful.
Confession: I am created in God’s image to be fruitful and diligent.
