Scripture Reading: Acts 23:20-21
And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly. But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.

Reflections: Paul’s enemies conspired to kill him under the pretense of seeking further inquiry. More than forty men took an oath to fast until they had succeeded. However, God exposed their scheme through Paul’s nephew, and their evil plot was thwarted. This account reminds us that no scheme against a child of God can succeed when God is our defender. Just as God exposed the plan against Paul, He will uncover and overturn every hidden plot against our lives. Job 5:12 says, “He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.” No matter how well-planned the enemy’s schemes are, they cannot succeed when God intervenes.

Prayer: Lord, expose every hidden scheme of the enemy and frustrate their plans. Let no evil plot succeed against my life.

Confession: No conspiracy against me shall stand. Every hidden plan of the enemy is exposed and overturned in Jesus’ name.
