Scripture Reading : Act 4:23-24 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is.

Reflections: After healing a man with lame feet, Peter and John were brought before the council and threatened to stop spreading the gospel. Following their release, they returned home and shared the incident with the rest of the Apostles. Instead of debating the issue at length, the entire apostolic team immediately switched to prayer. During this prayer session, the Holy Spirit responded by causing the ground to shake and filling it with more power and boldness. From this experience of the apostles we can undoubtedly gain the understanding that to engage the Holy Spirit most effectively, we should speak less and pray more.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to talk less and pray more.
