Scripture Reading: Joh 11:43-44
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him and let him go.
Reflections: Lazarus, a friend of Jesus, fell ill. His entire family knew that their association with Jesus, coupled with how they selflessly supported his ministry with their resources, was enough to engage his immediate attention. They knew he would rush from his location against odds to their home to heal Lazarus. This expectation was, however, dashed on rocks. Jesus arrived four days later when Lazarus had died and had been buried. The family concluded that it was too late for anything to be done. But the unexpected happened. Jesus walked to the tomb and raised Lazarus from the dead to their utter amazement. It is never too late for God to act! He works according to His own time table and counsel!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that it is never too late for you to act.
Confession: I don’t give up on God. He may not do it my way, but He will be up to the task, choosing to do it his way!
