Scripture Reading: Exodus 2:20-21
“And he said unto his daughters, And where is he? why is it that ye have left the man? call him, that he may eat bread. And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter.”
Reflections: In this passage, Moses, having fled Egypt and sought refuge in Midian, demonstrated an act of kindness by assisting the daughters of Reuel (Jethro) at the well. His willingness to help not only resolved their immediate challenge but also set in motion a series of events that transformed his life. Reuel, moved by Moses’ kindness, extended hospitality, which led to Moses finding a home, a family, and a new chapter in his journey. Kindness has the power to open doors of opportunity and transform lives. It is not just a moral virtue but a divine principle that aligns us with God’s purposes. When we act in kindness, we reflect God’s nature (Ephesians 4:32), and we often find that the kindness we show returns to us in unexpected ways (Proverbs 11:25). In Moses’ case, his act of service paved the way for provision, partnership, and purpose. This teaches us that acts of kindness are seeds that grow into blessings, not only for those we help but also for ourselves.
Prayer: Heavenly Father may my acts of kindness open unto me doors of blessing.
Confession: I walk in kindness, trusting in its transformative power.
