Friday, 1st July 2016: Don’t be quick to believe everything people tell you!

Scripture Reading: Matt 2: 8 & 12 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Reflection: The wise men were grateful to see Herod do all he can to help them locate the residence of the newly born child whose star they had seen in the east. Now they know this child born to be king of the Jews could be located at Bethlehem. Thankfully they got ready to leave the palace of Herod. They were glad to hear Herod ask them to bring him feedback upon finding the child so that he can also go and worship him. They left the palace believing what Herod had told them and were definitely going to link him up to baby Jesus. They never had the slightest idea that he actually wanted the child dead. They believed him in toto until God warned them in a dream never to return to the palace. Don’t be quick to believe everything people tell you especially regarding destiny matters. Submit such directives to the Holy Spirit and trust him to unveil the truth to you. Pray that even as God thwarted the efforts of Herod, he will also disappoint people who seek to tell you lies in their bid to get what they want. May God give you divine dreams to expose liars in your life to you.

Prayer: Oh Lord, let people who give me information with sinister motives be disappointed. Give me divine dreams to know who they are so I will keep away from them.

Confession: I will not be quick to believe everything people tell me. Anybody around me who gives me information masterminded with a sinister motive will never succeed with their plans. God will disappoint them.
