Scripture Reading: Matthew 26:75
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out and wept bitterly.
Reflections: Three times, Peter was queried about his association with Jesus, On each of those occassionsm, he denied ever having an association with Jesus. However at the third instance, he remembered how Jesus had prophesied accurately about his denial of him. He was moved to tears by this and immediately repented. By this action, we understand that Peter allowed the WORD of God to drive his convictions and actions. After his restoration, following repentance, Peter continued unflinchingly with his apostleship. Like Peter, it is always important to remember the word of God and allow it to bring you the needed conviction in life. This will ensure that you remain in God’s perfect will. It is a blessing to always live your life with recourse to God’s word.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me give your word its rightful place in my life.
Confession: I live with recourse to the word of God. I yield to the conviction it brings me.
