Scripture Reading: Ezra 7:10
For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
Reflections: The Jews were returning home from exile in batches. The lead man in this particular batch was Ezra, the scribe. He was armed with a letter from King Artaxerxes that gave him the authority to lead Israel. He is described as a man whose heart had been prepared to seek the law of the LORD, to do it, and to teach it. This implied that he had always given his time and attention to studying and obeying the law of the LORD. His character development had therefore been underpinned by this action which ultimately ushered him into his destiny of being used by God to bring spiritual restoration to Israel. Ezra’s testimony points to the fact that whatever you give your time and attention to has the power to affect the path of your destiny. As a result, it is critical to focus your life only on those things that will positively affect your destiny. Be the Ezra of your generation!
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me give attention to what will affect my destiny positively.
Confession: I will give attention to only what will affect my destiny positively.
