Scripture Reading: Genesis 19:29
And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.
Reflections: The entire city of Sodom and Gomorrah was eradicated by fire from heaven. Lot definitely might have heaved a sigh of relief after being led out of the city by the angels before the catastrophe occurred. How thankful he must have been to God for this show of mercy. Perhaps what he may not have immediately considered as the reason for this goodness was the relationship that his uncle Abraham had with God (Genesis 19:29). From this, we note that our relationship with God goes a long way to benefit others. God uses it to intervene on their behalf in times of trouble. This is confirmed in the story of how God saved some people from the incidence of a shipwreck due to Paul’s presence (Acts 27: 22-24). Your relationship with God is indeed a channel of blessing to others! Keep it growing richer and richer!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that out of my relationship with you, people around me shall be blessed.
Confession: My relationship with God is a channel of blessing to others.
