Scripture Reading: Dan 6:5
Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

Reflections: Daniel was successful despite his enemies’ efforts to stop him. They believed his success was due to his commitment to keeping his covenant with God. His enemies knew the only way to defeat him was to devise a plan he would disagree with. So, they persuaded the king to issue a decree that banned people from praying to any deity other than the king. Daniel refused to obey the royal decree and prayed three times daily to the God of Israel. His accusers used this evidence against him, bringing him before the king to face judgment. Like Daniel, you should stand for what you believe in and be willing to accept the consequences of your conviction without shame.

Prayer: My mind is made up. Nothing can stop me from compromising my faith.

Confession: i do not favor what will lead me to compromise my faith!
