Scripture Reading: John 12:42-43 (MEV)
“Yet many of the rulers also believed in Him. But because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they be put out of the synagogue. For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.”
Reflections: Throughout His ministry, Jesus performed miracles to prove His divinity and confirm His message of redemption, calling people to repentance and restored fellowship with God. While some people believed in Him, they hesitated to confess their faith openly due to a desire for human approval and fear of being expelled from the synagogue by the Pharisees. Their preference for the praise of men over God’s approval compromised their spiritual growth and limited their transformation. This mindset persists today, as many struggle to live by God’s standards out of fear of rejection or judgment. As a believer, you must prioritize God’s approval, allowing His Word to transform your life, even when it requires standing against worldly values.
Prayer: Lord, remove from my heart the desire for human approval that hinders my growth in You.
Confession: I choose to seek the praise of God over the praise of men.
