Friday, 18th February 2022: When your faith is limited, you restrict what God can do!

Scripture Reading: Matthew 8:13
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour

Reflections: ‘It has been done for you just as you have believed’, Jesus said to the centurion. The Greek word translated ‘believed’ is ‘ pisteuō’ which means ‘to have faith’. So, by faith, the centurion had had his specific request to have his servant instantly healed by Jesus granted. When he initially approached Jesus for this intervention, Jesus had personally wanted to go with him to his house. He, however, restrained Jesus from travelling and argued out that healing could be administered without his physical presence in his home. He believed wholeheartedly that just a command of recovery from his lips would indeed travel through time and space to take expression in the body of his servant. This was a tangible demonstration of absolute faith, which Jesus rewarded instantly. The centurion’s faith establishes the evidence that God honours us at the level of our faith. The implication is that when your faith is limited, you restrict what God can do.

Prayer: Oh, Lord, help me to be release my faith unreservedly.

Confession: I demonstrate bold faith.
