Scripture Reading: Genesis 24:10 And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor
Reflections: Eliezer, Abraham’s chief servant, successfully fulfilled his mission to find a wife for Isaac, Abraham’s son. His journey to Mesopotamia and subsequent success demonstrates the essential factor of planning. He traveled with ten camels, carrying expensive products, including silver and gold jewelry and clothing (Genesis 24:22–53). The number of camels allowed him to return with Rebecca, the lady she found for Isaac to marry, and her entourage without difficulty (Genesis 24:61). He used a portion of the jewelry and garments to pay Rebecca’s bride price and the remainder as a departure gift to her family (Genesis 24:22–53). Before his journey, Eliezer meticulously considered the situation and gathered all these necessary supplies. Remember, planning is crucial for success.
Prayer: Lord, give me the ability to plan before acting.
Confession: I plan before acting.
