Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business

Reflections: The Apostles and the Disciples had come together. There was a need to select and ordain leaders to distribute food among the members. A set of criteria was established for choosing these leaders. The requirements included honesty, being filled with the Spirit, having wisdom, and possessing faith. These qualities were considered essential for any disciple. They represent four crucial levels of living that demonstrate God’s presence to those around us. These qualities are fundamental for making an impact on our world. The seven individuals who met these criteria had hands laid on them to ordain them into the deacon ministry. Through their ordination, they were expected to exceed the basic requirements. Like the seven disciples, you must bear witness that you are honest, honest, filled with the Spirit, possess wisdom, and have faith.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me bear witness that I am honest, filled with the Spirit, possess wisdom, and have faith.
