Friday, 17th March 2023: God will come through for you!

Scripture Reading: Acts 7:19
The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.

Reflections: For many years, the Israelite’s had lived in Egypt. This was made possible by Joseph, who miraculously ascended to the office of prime minister while labouring as a slave in Egypt. He had assisted the migration of his brethren from Canaan to Egypt because of his position. Meanwhile, via their forefather Abraham, God had promised them that they would one day inherit the country of Canaan (Genesis 15:18–21). Unknown to them at this time of their exile in Egypt, the fulfilment of that prophecy was approaching. God was on his way to fulfilling his promise. However, something unusual occurred. Their living situation deteriorated rapidly. A new Egyptian monarch turned them into slaves, and they suffered severely. God however sent Moses to deliver them from these difficulties and send them to Canaan, the promised land. Like Israel, we must remember that sometimes the miracles that bring us to our destiny are preceded by unexpected afflictions, yet these challenges cannot prevent God’s word from being fulfilled. God will still come through for you!

Prayer: Dear Lord, I am grateful that your promises for my well-being and prosperity shall come to pass.

Confession: God’s promises for my well-being and prosperity shall come to pass.
