Scripture Reading:Philippians 4:1
Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
Reflections: The work of Christ on the cross broke the yoke of bondage and made available to us a life of liberty. It is to continue walking in this liberty that the subject of standing fast in the Lord comes into focus (Galatians 5:1). To stand fast means to remain stationary bearing in mind that you have an opponent who would like to see you get out of your given position of liberty. No wonder the military in Classical Greek classified the term ‘stand fast’ as ‘strongly resisting an opponent”. Abiding by the word of God enables you to keep the devil resisted while you remain standing in your position of liberty. Paul therefore concludes thus ‘Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle (2 Thessalonians 2:15). Conclusively, your allegiance to the word of God is your key to standing fast in the Lord. Keep standing fast in the Lord!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me hold allegiance to your word.
Confession: I am standing fast in the Lord. I cannot be separated from his WORD. My life in the WORD keeps the devil resisted and holds me up in my walk in liberty.
