Friday, 16th June 2017: Don’t stop doing good!

Scripture Reading: Acts 9:36
Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did.

Reflections: There was so much sadness in Joppa. The dead body of Tabitha had been laid in the upper chamber in readiness for burial. People wept every where showing and speaking about Tabitha’s kindness as a person when she was alive. Her description as a woman of ‘good works and alms-deeds’ said it all. The nature of Tabitha’s kindness was rare and it appeared no one was ever going to be able to fill the vacuum she had left. The disciples had no option than to send for Apostle Peter who happened to be in town at the time. The arrival of Peter turned things around. As he prayed over the dead body, Tabitha arose! What a turn around! The good works of Tabitha had been responsible for this miracle. Your good works in life will prove to be a powerful tool of intervention for your own life one day! No wonder we are admonished by Paul ‘not to be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not’- Galatians 6:9. Don’t stop doing good! Keep up the spirit of giving!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to cultivate a giving spirit in life. Let my life of giving produce divine interventions for my life to your glory.

Confession: I will not stop doing good in this life. My good works in life will surely bring about a divine intervention for my life at a point in need.
