Scripture Reading: Isaiah 11:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
Reflections: Isaiah foresaw the ministry of Jesus Christ and prophesied accurately about it. One of the things he noted about the exemplary work ethics of Jesus was his ability to avoid making judgements based on merely what He saw or heard about people. In other words He refused to work with assumptions and rather depended solely on what He gathered from the Spirit of God. An assumption is something accepted to happen or to be true without further proof. It can easily lead one into making an erroneous decision or judgement. Like Jesus, the decisions or judgments we make in our day to day interactions with people must therefore be aided by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Such decisions will enable us to walk in fulfillment of our destinies.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you for the availability of your Spirit to help me make accurate decisions and sound judgements.
Confession: I progress in life. I am not driven merely by what I see or hear. I depend on the Spirit of God to make decisions.
