Scripture Reading: Psalm 32:10b. but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about
Reflections: Translated from the Hebrew word ‘chesed’, mercy means several things including ‘pity, compassion, forbearance, favor and gentleness’. It thus speaks of a package of God’s tenderheartedness exercised towards the needy. To trust in God on the other hand is to place your absolute confidence in Him such that you live without anxiety. In order to enjoy the package of blessings derived from the mercies of God, the Psalmist points us to the need to put our whole trust in Him. It is such a big deal then to trust in God. Keep trusting Him!
Prayer: Oh Lord help me to trust you in you so that I can be visited by your mercies.
Confession: I trust in the Lord. I am connected to His mercies.
