Scripture Reading : John 19:28, 30
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Reflection: Your life definitely has a purpose on this earth! How exciting this is! The life of the author and finisher of our faith proves this. In examining his statement, ‘it is finished’ in line with the fact that he said so only after noting that ‘all things were now accomplished, we come to the undeniable conclusion that Jesus lived a life on purpose. He did not live anyhow. He knew why he was born and he had worked to accomplish this purpose. On the cross, all these came gladly before his eyes. He knew he had not disappointed God! Living a life on purpose before we die is the standard set for living. Seek to know and pursue the accomplishment of your purpose in life. Like Jesus, may you not ‘bow down your head and give up the ghost’ until you have accomplished this purpose!
Confession: I will live a life on purpose. I will not disappoint God!
