Scripture Reading: 1Samuel 17:31-32
And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him. And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.
Reflections: David, although a youth, took up the challenge to fight Goliath, the Philistine giant. The moment he set eyes on Goliath, he stilled the fears of Israel and proceeded to make enquiries about what he would be rewarded with if he fought the giant and called off his bluff. He stunned King Saul the more when he calmed his fears and told him about his readiness to kill Goliath. David was simply fearless. Fearlessness is freedom from fear. Fear is an expectation of harm, pain or danger. It creates room for psychological imbalance, which robs one of the courage to do what they would have been able to do right. Fearlessness is an essential quality for success in life. Until you free yourself from fear, you can never make headway in life.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me get rid of fear in my life
Confession: I am fearless.
