Scripture Reading: Romans 10:2 (KJV)
“For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.”
Reflections: Passion for God is a good thing, but passion without knowledge can lead to error. Paul spoke about the Jews who were zealous for God but lacked the right understanding. They were eager to serve Him, yet they rejected the righteousness that comes through faith in Christ. Instead of submitting to God’s way, they tried to establish their own righteousness. Many people today have enthusiasm for spiritual things but are not rooted in the truth of God’s Word. Some follow traditions rather than seeking God’s will, while others act on emotions rather than divine wisdom. This kind of zeal can lead to misguided efforts, frustration, and even destruction. True zeal must be guided by knowledge—knowledge of God’s Word, His character, and His ways. When our passion is rooted in truth, we will serve God effectively and walk in His perfect will. Let us not be driven by excitement alone, but by a deep understanding of who God is and what He desires from us.
Prayer: Father, give me a zeal that is grounded in truth.
Confession: I am zealous for God, but my zeal is guided by knowledge and truth.
