Friday, 14th April 2017: You can overcome rejection!

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 53: 3-4
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our grief’s, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

Reflection: One of the many things Jesus suffered was rejection. Indeed, He was totally rejected. Even at his trial, the court of Pilate rejected Him. The people cried ‘away with him’ and ‘crucify him’ ( Luke 23: 18-21). Rejection actually led him to the cross. On the cross, he felt the intensity of it so much so that He cried ‘My God, my God, why has thou forsaken me'(Matthew 27:46). As the prophet Isaiah prophesied the rejection of Christ years before it happened, he also indicated that this was done on our behalf. Surely he hath borne our grief’s, and carried our sorrows’, he sounded. This among others implies that in Christ we have been given the victory to overcome rejection in life. Rejection is a sense of being unwanted and unneeded. It leads to loneliness, misery, self pity, depression, suicide, hardness, arrogance, and rebellion. Confessing who you are in Christ (Galatians 4: 1-4) and invoking the power in His shed blood ( Hebrews 12:24) will enable you experience the needed freedom from rejection. Yes, you can overcome the spirit of rejection right now. Glory to God for the death and resurrection of His son, Jesus the Christ!

Prayer: In the name of Jesus I break free from the power and effects of rejection in my life through the power of His precious blood.

Confession: I have the Spirit of adoption. I cannot be despised. Through the power in the blood of Jesus, I refuse to feel and be rejected in this life.
