Scripture Reading: Eph 4:14
That we henceforth are no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Reflections: Every church is pastored by individuals called within a five-fold ministry and appointed by God. Paul does not only bring out this truth but goes further to show the expected outcomes of the services rendered by pastors. This, according to his submission, is to get every church member to a stage of perfection with the full dimension of spiritual maturity. He explains this as quitting child-like behaviours which allows us to be ‘tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine’. Paul is talking about a developed spiritual mental state where one is so grounded that they cannot be shaken by difficulties or led astray by novel teachings of deceivers who teach clever lies. A major goal you must achieve in your Christian walk is therefore to get rid of any spiritually immature behaviour. God is actually waiting for you to bring any form of spiritual immaturity you exhibit to an end!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to work towards bringing spiritual immaturity in my life to an end.
Confession: I am focused on achieving spiritual maturity.
