Friday, 10th June 2022: Plan before you act!

Scripture Reading: Genesis 24:10
And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor

Reflections: Eliezer delivered successfully on the charge to secure a wife for Isaac. The entire story of his journey to Mesopotamia and the consequent feat he achieved revealed key success factors one would have to adhere to in life. One of these is the need to plan before executing a task. We note in the story he travelled with ten camels and several expensive goods. The goods included jewels of silver and gold and raiment (Genesis 24:22 & 53). The number of camels enabled him to transport Rebecca and her team of aides without stress back to Isaac (Genesis 24:61). The jewellery and raiments proved helpful as he used some to pay for the bride price of Rebecca and the remainder as a parting gift to her family (Genesis 24: 22 & 53). Eliezer thought through carefully and put together everything he would need to make his journey successful before he set off. Indeed without planning for what you want to achieve, you will fail in life! Learn to prepare adequately before you act!

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me abound with the skills to plan before I take action.

Confession: I plan before I take action.
