Scripture Reading: Genesis 39:9
There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
Separated from his family and his homeland, Joseph served as a slave in the house of a royal official in the land of Egypt. The mistress of the house decided to seduce him into having a sexual relationship with her. However, much as she tried, he will not budge. He will simply not sin against God even though there was no one watching him. His action proved that he feared God. He really meant his words when he said he will do nothing to sin against God. How about you? Your ability to still stand for God in moments of difficulties and in places where people are not around to serve as a check on your spiritual life will confirm that you truly fear Him. Like Joseph, show that you fear God wherever you find yourself!
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be resolute in proving my allegiance to you no matter where I find myself and under whatever condition that presents itself in my life.
Confession: Wherever and whatever condition I find myself in, my allegiance to God shall remain intact.
