Scripture Reading: Exodus 8:1-2
And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs:
Reflection: For the second time, Moses made Pharaoh to understand the need to let go of Israel. This time around, God was going to cause frogs to invade the land of Egypt if he disobeys. God had earlier on polluted the Nile river, the source of water for Egypt, with blood thereby killing all the fishes. By this time Pharaoh should have realized he was inviting one trouble after the other for holding on to the Israelites. This incident indicates to us that some things in our possession can be the source of troubles in our lives, especially when they are disapproved by God. The only way to encounter peace is just to let go of these things! The Psalmist discovered this and wrote thus ‘Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?’. Clearly some things can turn out to be fire and hot coals in your life. Just throw them out! Ask God to reveal to you anything in your possession which is a source of trouble in your life. You will be glad you did!
Prayer: Oh Lord reveal to me anything in my possession which is a source of trouble in my life and help me get rid of it.
Confession: I will not have in my possession anything that will turn out to be fire and hot coals in my life. I will let go of whatever God says I should let go!
