Scripture Reading: Jonah 2:1&10
Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Reflections: Jonah found himself in trouble when he run away from the desires of God. Turbulence from the sea waves caused havoc to the ship he had boarded. The only choice was for the sailors to throw him overboard. In the sea, a huge fish swallowed him up. Miraculously he was kept alive in the belly of the fish for three days. However life within the fish was nothing pleasant to talk about. It compounded his situation the more. But there was one thing the crisis could not stop him from doing- talking to God through prayer! Right from the belly of the fish, he prayed to God. The fish and the noise of the waters could not also stop his voice from reaching God. At the command of God, in response to his prayers, the fish vomited out Jonah unto the dry land! Don’t ever allow a crisis to stop you from reaching out to God! You may miss out on your intervention.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to maintain the ability of reaching out to you no matter what.
Confession: Nothing can stop me from praying!
